FOLO's Educational Society for Young Children is in its formative stage to achieve the above mentioned objectives. As a part of this effort FOLO runs a FULLY FREE TUTION SCHOOL for 60 orphans/downtrodden children since 2005. The aim of this school is to successfully integrate school learning and develop certain life skills through training programmes. The objective is to nurture the children into academic excellence within their communities, thereby inspiring THE WHOLE community.

The school does not discriminate students by caste or religion and is located at Mukkola Village, Vizhinjam Panchayat , Thiruvananthapuram Dist, Kerala, India. The school runs on the top of a rented house with minimum facilities. Folo cannot accommodate all the needy children due to the limited space of the area.

*28 July 2006 Registration of Society

* 10-June 2006 completion of temporary construction of school on the top of the rented house & other facilities at Mukkola Project

* 14-June 2006 started sessions with 15 children & 01 teacher

* 4-sepetmber 2006: 30 children & 02 teachers

* 01 January 2007: 60 children, 04 teachers & no non-teaching staff

To prepare these children for a career, FOLO proposes to teach employment-oriented courses along with the regular stream of State Board Syllabi. These employment-oriented courses will start right from their 08th Standard onwards.

Children who have abandoned study after 05th Standard are selected and groomed in the state curriculum till their completion of 07th Standard, and from 8th Standard onwards training based in any of the following vocational areas will be imparted depending on the opportunities available in their communities.

For each deserving and promising student who wishes to continue studying after their 12th / 10+2 / Intermediate Standard, FOLO will link a donor exclusively to the child.

FOLO's Educational Society for Young Children is inspired by the Mahatma Gandhi's "Sevagram" community development programme which is based on the methodology of imparting education which primarily equips a student with basic education, vocational training and moral values for economic development.
